Mato Grosso crushed a record 7.02 million tonnes of soybeans in the first half of 2026, up 4.53% year on year, according to Imea. Processing was supported by stronger biodiesel demand and an 8.94% increase in soybean meal and oil exports, which reached 4.59 million tonnes. Algeria accounted for 38.08% of the state’s soybean oil shipments, while Indonesia took 24.65% of soybean meal exports. Ample soybean supplies from consecutive large harvests kept crushing plants operating at high utilization rates, supporting both domestic demand and export sales of higher value added products.
