K+S EXPECTS REVENUE OF UP TO BRL 13.1 BILLION THIS YEAR

The German chemical company K+S, one of the 5 largest suppliers of potash to Brazil, has revised its financial result estimate this year. The company now expects earnings between € 2.3 billion and € 2.6 billion (about BRL 11.5 billion and BRL 13.1 billion). The previous projection was €1.6 billion to €1.9 billion. Last year, the company yielded € 969 million. The forecast was revised upward because of the increase in the average price of fertilizers. According to K+S, it will significantly outweigh the increase in power, materials and logistics costs. However, the company expects interruptions in production throughout the year because of the threat of gas shortages in German industrial units. In 2021, K+S supplied nearly 2 million tons of potash to Brazil. According to the Union of Agricultural Fertilizers and Correctives of the State of São Paulo (Siacesp), the German company was only behind the Canadian company Canpotex, the Russian Uralkali, and the BPC, from Belarus.
