ITAQUI PORT HITS 16.5 MILLION TONNES IN H1 2026

Itaqui Port handled 16.5 million tonnes in the first half of 2026, averaging more than 90,000 tonnes per day. Dry bulk accounted for nearly 12 million tonnes, with soybean shipments reaching 8.5 million tonnes, or more than 51% of total throughput, reinforcing Itaqui’s position as Brazil’s second-largest soybean export corridor. Year-on-year, aluminum volumes rose 75%, copper 15%, corn 4% and fertilizer throughput 2%, surpassing 2 million tonnes. The port expects volumes to remain strong in the second half of the year as grain export shipments accelerate.
