HYDROUS ETHANOL SALES GREW 54% IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2024

According to ANP data, hydrous ethanol sales grew 54.2% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year, hitting 5.3 billion liters. This was the second-best Q1 for biofuel sales volume, after only the same period in 2019. With this expansion, the hydrous ethanol industry has now restored to its pre-pandemic levels. In March alone, sales surged by 46% to 1.8 billion liters. This gain occurred despite a 7.4% reduction in gasoline C sales in the first quarter.
