HIDROVIAS DO BRASIL TO INCREASE OPERATIONAL CAPACITY IN SO-CALLED ‘NORTH SYSTEM’

Hidrovias do Brasil, a logistics solutions company, was the winner of a simplified selection process held by port authority Companhia Docas do Pará (CDP) for the zoning and use of an area available in the mirror of water, with over 61,000 m², for the transshipment of solid vegetable and mineral bulk operations at the public port of Vila do Conde, Barcarena, Pará. With this move, the company will have an estimated operational capacity of about 8 million tonnes per year in Brazil’s so-called North System starting in 2024. The volume to be handled in the new area should correspond to approximately 700 thousand tonnes per year. The contract has a duration of four years, with the possibility of renewal for the same period.
