HARVEST OF THE FIRST CORN CROP IN PARANÁ IS 13% COMPLETE, SAYS DERAL

The harvest of the summer corn crop in Paraná reached 13% of the area projected for the state by Monday, the 22nd, compared to 5% seven days ago. The information comes from the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), the state agriculture and supply department. The cereal crops have the following conditions: 70% of the crops are in good condition (73% last week); 25% average condition (23% seven days ago) and 5% poor (4% last week). The stages of corn crops are as follows: 5% in flowering; 38% in fruiting and 57% of the corn was in the ripening phase. Regarding winter corn, second harvest or off-season, Deral informs that 8% of the estimated area was sown until the second. Of this total, 99% of the crops were in good condition and 1% were in average condition. The crops were in the following phases: germination (64%) and vegetative development (36%).
