GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR 25-YEAR CONCESSION OF TERMINAL AREA AT RIO GRANDE PORT

The government launched a public consultation on January 30 for the concession of a retro port area at Rio Grande Port. Proposed by CMPC Celulose Riograndense LTDA and Neltume Ports S.A., the project aims to develop a private-use terminal for handling general cargo, mainly cellulose, over 25 years, with a R$732.8 million investment. The consultation runs until March 3, 2025, allowing public input. The winner will be determined by the highest concession fee, set at R$142.7 million. The concessionaire must invest in infrastructure, including warehouses, berths, and maintenance.
