GOIÁS SET TO ACHIEVE 33.7 MILLION TONS IN GRAIN HARVEST BY 2025

Conab’s 4th Systematic Grain Survey 2024-25 predicts a record 33.7 million tons of grain in Goiás in 2025, up 11.4% from the previous crop. Corn and soybeans stand out, growing 12.7% and 11.7%, respectively, yielding 31.4 million tons in the state. Technology, logistics, and production management efforts have helped Goiás, the fourth largest producer, achieve 10.5% of the nation’s output. National soybean production is expected to rise 12.6% and corn 3.3%. Goiás’ sugarcane production is expected to rise by 14.5% to 1.02 million hectares, cementing its position as a Brazilian agricultural leader. Corn, soybeans, and sorghum make up 97.6% of Goiás production and 96.3% of harvested area. Domestic demand is likely to restrict export corn supplies.
