This increase is attributed to significant investments in expanding and renewing sugarcane fields. Sugar manufacturing is also expected to rise from 26% to 32%. CEO Martinho Seiiti Ono highlights Goiás as likely the sole Brazilian state with increased sugarcane production. Recent rains aid in field recovery. Ono foresees a billion liters of corn ethanol production and optimistic export prospects, particularly to the North and Northeast during the off-season. Concerns were raised about distributors’ compliance with RenovaBio targets and Petrobras’ pricing policy’s impact on ethanol competitiveness.
