EUROCHEM WILL PRODUCE FERTILIZERS IN MINAS GERAIS IN Q1, 2024

The EuroChem group, a global fertilizer producer, announced on Thursday (21) that it plans to begin producing phosphates at the Serra do Salitre Mining Industrial Complex in Minas Gerais in the first quarter of 2024. This will be the EuroChem group’s first mining unit outside of Europe. The production is expected to reach about 1 million tons of phosphate fertilizers per year, which represents 15% of the national production of this input. “The operating license is a crucial step for the Complex that will make EuroChem a significant player in the fertilizer production industry in Brazil and South America,” said Gustavo Horbach, CEO of EuroChem in South America. The sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid plants, which have received the necessary licenses, are essential to produce fertilizers.
