DATAGRO RAISES FORECAST FOR THE 2022/23 BRAZILIAN SOYBEAN CROP

The fifth report by DATAGRO raised expectations for the soybean and corn crops in Brazil in 2022–2023, with a trend toward new records for both crops. “Despite initial concerns, the weather in the majority of the producing region turned out to be favorable”. According to economist and research leader of DATAGRO Flávio Roberto de França Junior, “the exception was the western half of Rio Grande do Sul”. A new record was reached by the output estimate, which went from 155.60 million tons to 155.91 million tons. This amounts to a 19.4% rise over the catastrophic harvest of 130.58 million tons from the previous year.
