CORURIPE INVESTS BRL 200 MILLION TO EXPAND SUGAR PRODUCTION IN THE TRIANGULO MINEIRO REGION

With a R$ 200 million investment, Usina Coruripe will expand its unit located in Limeira do Oeste, in the Triangulo Mineiro region. The investment intends to install a VHP sugar production line at the industrial plant, which currently produces ethanol. The company will expand the unit’s annual crushing capacity from 1.5 million tons to 2.5 million tons of sugarcane, enabling a production of 187,000 tons of VHP sugar per year, generating around 100 new direct jobs in the region. The company’s president Mario Lorencatto highlighted Coruripe’s recent investments of R$95 million in a modern road-rail transshipment unit, operated within the Iturama (MG) unit, linked to the North-South Railway stretch, with the capacity to handle 2 million tons of sugar (VHP) per year. Limeira do Oeste unit, which is about 50 kilometers away, will be transported through the newly opened terminal.
