CORN HARVEST IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL REACHES 52% OF THE AREA, SAYS EMATER

Corn harvest in Rio Grande do Sul is progressing well with 52% of the area completed. The dry climate aids field work and allows efficient threshing due to suitable moisture content in the grains. However, productivity varies considerably, ranging from over 10 tons/ha in high-tech crops to 3-5 tons/ha in situations affected by pests, diseases, or limited technology. While the harvest is expected to be satisfactory, it likely won’t reach the initial projection of 7,414 t/ha.
