CORN ETHANOL OUTPUT REACHES 3.44 BILLION LITERS

The Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry Union (UNICA) reports that 19 thousand tons of sugar were produced in the first half of January. Food manufacturing has increased by 4.43% since the start of the 2022–2023 harvest, from 32.06 million tons to 33.48 million tons overall (+4.43%). The Center-South units produced 208.25 million liters of ethanol (+43.31%) in the first half of January. Hydrous ethanol production totaled 96.66 million liters (-12.87%), whereas anhydrous ethanol production totaled 111.59 million liters (+224.55%). The overall amount of biofuel produced between the start of the current agricultural cycle and January 15 was 27.67 billion liters (+3.29%), of which 15.90 billion were hydrous ethanol (-0.31%) and 11.78 billion were other biofuels.
