CODEBA HANDLES 1 MILLION TONS IN NOVEMBER

The Ports of Salvador, Aratu-Candeias and Ilhéus handled around 1 million tons in November, a growth of 16.61% compared to the same period in 2019. The Port of Aratu-Candeias pulled the numbers up, registering an increase of 32.12% and reflecting a gradual recovery during the second half of November, with emphasis being placed on liquid bulk and fertilizers. In relation to 2019, the Port of Salvador also registered growth in operations, handling in the year a total of 4,744,242 tons. In the first half of 2020, the Port of Salvador signaled the good performance with a growth of 4.52%. In turn, with positive results in the 11 months of the year, the Port of Ilhéus registered a 117.58% increase, in the comparison between 2019 and 2020. The busiest cargo was soybeans (92,149 tons). In general, Codeba exports grew by 3.18%, compared to 2019, following the same trend as stated by ANTAQ, that the Brazilian port sector registered a growth of 2.1% in the third quarter of this year, in comparison with the same period last year.
