CHINA LEADS IMPORTS OF BRAZILIAN CORN, BOOSTING RECORD EXPORTS IN 2023

Brazil’s corn exports are on track to surpass 50 million tons in 2023, making the country the world’s largest corn exporter. This increase is primarily driven by the growing imports of Brazilian corn by China, which leads the list of buyers. China imported 8 million tons of corn from Brazil between January and October 2023, more than double the total in 2022. The record corn crop in Brazil, estimated at 110 million tons for 2022/2023, also contributes to this increase. Brazil is nearing the 50 million-ton mark in corn exports for 2023, surpassing the United States as the world’s largest corn exporter.
