CARGO HANDLING AT PORT OF ITAQUI RISES 81% IN THE YEAR-TO-DATE PERIOD

The Port of Itaqui (MA) handled more than five million tons of corn this year, up 81% from the volume of corn handled in 2021. Until the first week of November, more than 16 million tons of grains, including soybeans, soybean meal, and corn, were shipped through the Port, an increase of more than 22% when compared to the same period last year. Soybeans lead with more than 11 million tons handled in the year. In total, Itaqui handled more than 29 million tons of cargo this year, up 8% from the same period last year, especially corn, with 5 million tons shipped from January to October.
