BRAZIL’S PETROBRAS TO INVEST $458 MILLION IN ITS PAULINIA REFINERY

Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras signed a deal with TSE and Toyo Engineering Corp to build a new diesel hydrotreating unit at its Paulinia refinery to ramp up its diesel output. Currently, Brazil needs to import around 30% to meet its demand for diesel. Replan has the largest refinery in Brazil, with a load of 434,000 barrels per day – about a quarter of the total production (1.7 million barrels per day). In addition to diesel oil, the refinery produces gasoline, aviation kerosene, asphalt, LPG (bottle gas), and propylene, among other petroleum products. According to the state-owned company, a new diesel hydrotreating unit (HDT) will be built at Replan. The unit is expected to enter production in 2025 and ramp up its S-10 diesel and kerosene output by 63,000 barrels per day and 12,500 barrels per day, respectively
