BRAZIL’S CENTER-SOUTH CAN PRODUCE UP TO 32.9 MT OF SUGAR AND 24.3 BILLION LITERS OF ETHANOL IN 2022/23, CANAPLAN SAYS

Canaplan estimates that Brazil’s center-south region will produce between 32.3 million tons and 32.9 million tons of sugar in the 2022/23 sugarcane season, to be closed in March 2023. Ethanol output is estimated between 23.9 and 24.3 billion liters in the period. The mills crushed 523.1 million tons of cane and produced 32.1 million tons of sugar, in addition to 24.1 billion liters of ethanol in the previous season. Sugar and ethanol forecasts vary according to crop volume and productivity. For Canaplan, if sugar crushing remains at 532.4 million tons, with the sugar blend estimated at 45.5%, the region is likely to produce 32.3 million tons of sugar and 23.9 billion liters of ethanol.
