BRAZILIAN OIL PRODUCTION BREAKS RECORD IN 2023 WITH 3.402 MILLION BARRELS/DAY

Brazil achieved a new record in oil production in 2023, with an average of 3.402 million barrels per day, which is a 12.57% increase compared to the previous year. This was mainly due to Petrobras installing four new platforms in the Santos and Campos basins. Natural gas extraction also increased, with a daily average of 150 million cubic meters, up 8.7% compared to the previous year. In total, oil and natural gas production averaged 4.344 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, up 11.69% from the previous record. The pre-salt accounted for roughly 75.18% of the national production.
