BRAZILIAN AGRICULTURAL EXPORTS REACHED US$ 14.5 BILLION IN MARCH

Agricultural exports in Brazil reached a record output of US$ 14.53 billion in March, up 29.4% from the same month last year. The increase was driven by the 27.6% rise in the prices of exported agricultural products. According to a survey by the Ministry of Commerce for International Relations at MAPA, the volume exported grew by 1.4% in the period. Agriproduct exports accounted for 50% of the amount exported by the country in March 2022, driven by high international prices of food. Agricultural imports, in turn, totaled US$ 1.42 billion (up 5.9%). Soy products (grain, meal, and oil) continue to lead Brazilian exports, with a record figure of US$ 7.56 billion and accounting for more than half of the products exported in March. China remains Brazil’s main destination, despite a drop in the share between March 2021 (42.3% share) and March 2022 (41.4% share).
