BRAZIL TO PROMOTE PORT OF ITAJAÍ CONCESSION PROJECT ACROSS OCTOBER

To promote and expand the dialogue with companies and business groups interested in the concession of the Port of Itajaí in Santa Catarina, the Special Secretariat of the Investment Partnerships Program of the Ministry of Economy (Seppi), the Ministry of Infrastructure (Minfra), and the Planning and Logistics Company (EPL) will hold project presentation meetings in October. The concession project aims to modernize port management and attract new infrastructure investments of BRL 2.9 billion. The bulk of investments will be destined for erecting the terminal, purchasing equipment, and promoting improvements in the mooring and waterway systems. The contract has a term of 35 years, renewable several times up to a limit of 70 years, at the discretion of the Ministry of Infrastructure. The company that offers the highest bid will leave the auction victorious.
