BRAZIL TO HARVEST RECORD SOYBEAN CROP IN 2022/23

According to DATAGRO, Brazil’s 2022/23 soybean area is expected to reach 41.79 million hectares, an increase of 3% when compared to the 2021/22 season (43.02 million hectares). This is the sixteenth consecutive year Brazil has increased its soybean area. “It is worth noting that these are preliminary numbers and that an abrupt reaction of prices in the next 60 days could change the increase prospects, since there is a strong trend towards soybeans”, said Flávio Roberto de França Junior, DATAGRO’s grain coordinator. Considering the predominant maintenance of a positive technological level, the potential production is 151.82 million tons, up 20% from the crop harvested this year (126.58 million tons).
