BRAZIL: TEREOS AND VLI HANDLE 955 THOUSAND TONS OF SUGAR IN 12 MONTHS WITH NEW WAREHOUSES

Over a year after the activation of two new warehouses built to boost the efficiency of sugar exports, Tereos, a company that produces sugar, ethanol, and energy, together with VLI, celebrate the milestone of 955,000 tons handled in 12 months. The number is up 30.6% from the 731 thousand tons previously registered. Currently, Tiplam is responsible for exporting 25% of all Brazilian sugar via the coast of Santos. On November 16, 2020, VLI and Tereos opened two sugar warehouses in the Port of Santos, and in the city of Guará (SP), because of the partnership established by the companies, with an investment of R$ 205 million, and a storage capacity for 240 thousand tons. VLI’s warehouse is in Santos and has the capacity to store 115 thousand tons of raw sugar. The second warehouse is in the city of Guará, with a storage capacity for 125 thousand tons, of which 80 thousand tons are destined to Tereos’ sugar storage.
