BRAZIL POSTS R$18.5 BILLION CREDIT PACKAGE FOR TRADE HIT SECTORS

Brazil launched a R$18.5 billion financing package to support industries affected by U.S. tariffs and international conflicts. The program includes R$13.5 billion from the National Treasury and R$5 billion from BNDES, offering credit for working capital, machinery purchases, productive investments, innovation, product adaptation and market diversification. Priority sectors include steel, aluminum, automobiles, wood products, machinery, paper, sugar and footwear exporters, as well as strategic industries such as fertilizers, critical minerals, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The measure is part of the third phase of the Brasil Soberano program and will be implemented through provisional legislation.
