BRAZIL PORTS EXPAND OIL EXPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

Brazil’s oil export terminals are expanding capacity to support rising pre-salt production and exports. Porto Sudeste will invest BRL 180 million to increase ship-to-ship oil transfer operations, while Porto do Açu and Petrobras are advancing infrastructure projects. Brazil’s crude output is expected to reach 5 million barrels per day by the end of the decade, boosting demand for offshore transshipment before cargoes are loaded onto export tankers. Terminal operators posted record oil handling volumes in 2025 and are planning further capacity additions to accommodate higher export flows.
