BRAZIL PLANS TO EXPORT SOYBEANS AND CORN VIA A PERUVIAN PORT

On Thursday (14), Peruvian Economy Minister Jose Arista announced that Brazil is looking to export soybeans, corn, and other products through the Peruvian port of Chancay. The mega port, which is currently under construction, has an initial investment of USD 1.3 billion and is expected to start operating by the end of the year. Earlier this week, Brazil’s Planning Minister Simone Tebet visited the port to explore the possibility of using it as an export route. She spoke with Arista about the potential opportunities available through the port. Chancay is a deep-water port located in the Peruvian fishing village of Chancay on the Pacific coast. It will be the first port operated by China in South America.
