BRAZIL IS ON ITS WAY TO LEADING CORN EXPORTS IN 2023

Allan Silveira dos Santos, manager of Market Studies and Supply Management at Conab, has presented the prospects for the first and second 2022/2023 corn harvests. He estimates that the summer corn harvest will produce 5.7% more than the previous cycle, with a 9.5% increase in productivity and a 0.4% decrease in area. The second harvest shows the same efficiency, with a 6.6% rise in productivity and a 10.6% increase in production. Agronomist Wallas Ferreira of the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) said that Brazil might overtake the United States as the world’s largest exporter of corn in 2023, with 50 million tons going to foreign markets.
