BRAZIL EXPORTS 60 THOUSAND TONS OF RICE TO CUBA

The Federation of Rice Associations of Rio Grande do Sul (Federarroz) has confirmed the shipment of 60 thousand tons of processed rice to Cuba. About 30 thousand tons have already been shipped via the Port of Rio Grande (RS). The remaining 30,000 tons are expected to be shipped by the end of this month. According to the president of Federarroz, Alexandre Velho, this kind of news encourages producers and will define parameters to the Brazilian rice market. “These processed rice businesses and the export to be confirmed of paddy rice define parameters to the domestic market. We are working to guarantee a good export volume in 2021”, he points out. A deal for the export of paddy rice is expected to close in the coming days.
