BRAZIL ETHANOL EXPORTS TO EUROPE TO HIT RECORDS IN 2022

Ethanol exports to Europe are likely to hit record levels this year at over 600 million liters of Ethanol. According to an analysis by S&P Global Commodity Insights, producers find overseas a more favorable market than domestic sales. The price of E10 fuel (gasoline with 10% ethanol) has led to increased demand in major consuming countries, such as Germany, the UK, and Sweden. The prior annual record for ethanol exports to Europe was in 2010 when Brazil sold 477 million liters. Exports to Europe between January and August totaled 427 million liters, up 435% from the same period in 2021. In August, 119 million liters of ethanol were shipped, the highest monthly result in 2022.
