BRAZIL-CANADA TRADE BREAKS A HISTORICAL RECORD SURPASSING USD 10 BILLION IN 2022

The year 2022 was a turning point in relations between Brazil and Canada, when the two countries broke previous records in commercial exchange, surpassing the 12-month mark of USD (FOB) 10 billion for the first tome in history. Between January and December 2022, the trade flow, which is the sum of exports and imports, was USD (FOB) 10.5 billion (highest figure ever seen in the bilateral relationship). This may represent a 41% gain over the USD (FOB) 7.497 billion earned during the same time period in 2021. The new agreements helped to strengthen the bilateral relationship, as did Brazil’s notable increase in imports (101 percent from 2021 to this year).
