The Brazilian Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ) has set a period for Public Consultation 07/2023, aimed at receiving contributions, subsidies, and suggestions for the improvement of technical and legal documents related to the bidding process for the concession of waterway access (access channel) to the Port of Paranaguá. This is the first proposal to concession a port access channel in the country. The guidelines follow the government’s policy for the concession of access channels. The proposal stipulates a contractual term of 25 years, with the area set to be taken over in 2024 and the possibility of successive extensions up to a limit of 70 years.
