The National Waterway Transport Agency (ANTAQ) held its first public hearing of the year 2023 on Friday, the 19th. The Public Consultation No. 01/2023 was held to evaluate the technical and legal documentation for the bidding procedure of the ITG 02 terminal in Rio de Janeiro’s Organized Port of Itaguaí. The proposed project, set to cover an expansive area of 348,937m², is expected to attract nearly R$ 3 billion in investments throughout the concession period. Moreover, it aims to significantly enhance the iron ore flow capacity of the Port of Itaguaí, facilitating the handling of approximately 400 million tonnes over the course of the contract.
