ANEC SEES RECORD FOR CORN EXPORTS THIS MONTH WITH A BOOST FROM CHINA

Brazil’s corn exports in September reached a record high of 9.67 million tons, a 41% increase from the same month in the previous year, with China being the top destination, according to data from the National Association of Grain Exporters (Anec). Brazil has taken advantage of a record harvest, estimated by the state-owned Conab at 131.9 million tons, a 16.6% yearly increase, to export huge supplies in an international market dealing with weaker imports from Ukraine. If confirmed, the September prediction will beat the previous month’s record of 9.26 million tons, according to Anec, which wiped the best thus far, witnessed in August 2019 (7.67 million tons).
