ANEC: CORN EXPORTS REACH 31.8MT YTD, UP 120% FROM 2021

Corn exports from Brazil totaled 31.8 million tonnes year-to-date (January to October), more than twice the volume shipped in the first ten months of 2021, which was 14.5 million tonnes, according to the National Association of Cereal Exporters. The amount also exceeds the 20.6 million tonnes exported in the twelve months of last year, when drought and frost hit the cereal crops, reducing the availability of grains to be shipped. In October 2022 alone, the country exported 6.24 million tonnes of corn, up from 1.87 million a year earlier. As for soybean shipments, Anec reported that 3.56 million tonnes were exported last month compared to 2.98 in October 2021. With the previous month’s results, the largest global producer and exporter of the oilseed has already shipped 74.45 million tonnes in 2022.
