AGRICULTURE EXPORTS BEAT A RECORD IN THE FIRST HALF

Brazilian agricultural exports hit a new high of USD 82.80 billion in the first half of this year, a 4.5% increase over the same time in 2022. The data comes from the Ministry of Agriculture. This rise is mostly due to an increase in the number of agricultural products exported (8%), while prices declined by 3.2%. Agribusiness exports reached USD 15.54 billion in June, down 0.6% from the previous year. In June, soybean exports reached a new high of 13.77 million tons (+37.9% compared to June 2022). Sugar exports totaled USD 1.40 billion in June, up 51.3% from the previous month. Export volume increased by 23.1%, while average export prices increased by 22.9%.
