Last week, the Port of Açu Multicargo Terminal (T-MULT) concluded a first-of-its-kind ilmenite (iron titanate) cargo movement operation at the port complex. The cargo originated in the city of São Francisco de Itabapoana, upstate Rio de Janeiro, bound for China. In addition to ilmenite, the Multicargo Terminal also exported, on the same process, 1,600 tonnes of oil risers to another customer, optimizing logistics and reducing the cost by using joint loading. In six years of operation, T-MULT has already handled more than 5 million tonnes.
