INCENTIVES WILL MAKE BRAZIL PRIORITIZE BIOFUELS OVER ELECTRIFICATION, SAYS VIBRA

Vibra Energia’s VP of Operations, Marcelo Bragança, supports biofuel incentives in the Fuel of the Future bill, emphasizing that Brazil has the infrastructure and potential to become a major biofuel hub. He noted that while electric vehicles face challenges due to insufficient charging infrastructure, biofuels can leverage existing fuel networks. Vibra is investing in charging stations and expects electric cars to represent 25% of sales by 2030. The bill proposes increasing ethanol blends to 35% and biodiesel to 25%. Bragança stressed the need for diverse fuel transportation modes and highlighted Vibra’s investments in terminals and cabotage routes.
