BRAZIL EYES INCREASE IN EXPORTING COMPANIES AFTER 2023 RECORD FIGURES

Brazil’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex/MDIC) plans to boost the number of Brazilian companies engaging in international trade, aiming to cultivate an export culture. Despite a record 28.5 thousand exporting firms in 2023, representing 1% of total companies, the government, focusing on the National Export Culture Policy, aims to expand inclusivity and diversify sectors. The Integrated Foreign Trade System streamlines processes, exemplified by 2023’s Control of Cargo and Transit for Imports and the Flex License. Secretary Tatiana Prazeres encourages small and medium-sized enterprises, constituting 40% of exporters, to leverage e-commerce benefits for global market entry.
