EUROCHEM PLANS TO START FERTILIZER COMPLEX IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2024

According to EuroChem, work on the Serra de Salitre mine and plant complex, in the state of Minas Gerais, is 75% complete and should be finished in the first quarter of 2024. According to the entity, Salitre will have the potential to produce 1 million tons of phosphate fertilizers a year, which is 15% of Brazil’s demand, reducing Brazil’s reliance on imports. “Salitre is strategically important to EuroChem because it allows us to compete in the South American fertilizer market”, said Gustavo Horbach, vice president of Upstream Production and Projects/CapEx of EuroChem in South America, “it is relevant for the country because it will help to reduce dependence on imported phosphate fertilizers.”
