The southern Brazilian state of Paraná is expected to increase corn and soybeans, according to the Department of Rural Economy (Deral). The report shows that 402 thousand hectares (58% of the planted area) have already been planted with corn in Paraná. About 28% of this area is in germination and 72% is in the vegetative development phase. Furthermore, 3.9 million hectares are expected to be produced, up 32% from the previous cycle. For soybeans, Deral’s monthly report shows that 21.5 million tons of soybeans are expected to be produced in the 2022-23 cycle.
