BRAZIL CENTER-SOUTH CORN HARVEST HITS 49%

Brazil’s 2026 second-crop corn harvest reached 49% of the planted area in the Center-South as of July 16, up from 40% a week earlier but below 55% a year ago, according to AgRural. Harvesting gained momentum for a second consecutive week after early delays caused by excessive moisture. Mato Grosso remains the most advanced state, with harvesting completed or nearing completion in key producing areas. Paraná and Goiás also posted steady progress, while Mato Grosso do Sul accelerated fieldwork as grain moisture levels declined.
