BRAZIL POSTS HIGHER TRADE SURPLUS ON FARM, MINING EXPORTS

Brazil posted a trade surplus of US$526.3 million in the third week of July, with exports totaling US$6.113 billion and imports reaching US$5.587 billion, according to the MDIC. Exports rose 6.7% year-on-year, supported by stronger agricultural and mining shipments, while imports increased 1.6%, led by purchases for the extractive industry. Year-to-date through the third week of July, the trade surplus reached US$47.308 billion, up 36.7% from the same period in 2025. The government continues to forecast a US$90 billion trade surplus for 2026.
