BRAZIL POSTS R$15 BILLION EXPORT CREDIT PACKAGE FOR AGRIBUSINESS

Brazil’s Senate approved legislation authorizing up to R$15 billion in credit facilities for exporters and agribusiness companies affected by unilateral trade measures and global market disruptions. The bill, now awaiting presidential approval, allows the Export Guarantee Fund (FGE) to back lending operations. Eligible beneficiaries include agriculture, livestock, planted forests, fisheries, aquaculture, mining, cooperatives and industry associations. The financing can be used for working capital, machinery purchases, capacity expansion, technology investments and compliance with sanitary, phytosanitary, environmental, traceability and other requirements imposed by export markets.
