PARANAGUÁ PORT EXPANDS POWER CAPACITY WITH BRL 81.3M SUBSTATION PROJECT

Paranaguá Port is investing BRL 81.3 million in a new 60 MW, 138 kV substation that will increase power supply capacity twelvefold, from 5 MW currently available. Designed to support port expansion plans over the next three decades, including future pier developments, the project is scheduled for completion within two years. The upgrade will improve energy reliability through network segmentation, enabling maintenance work without disrupting terminal operations. The facility will connect directly to Copel’s main substation, eliminating dependence on intermediate distribution units. The project also includes approximately 7.2 kilometers of underground medium-voltage circuits, with 71% of the investment allocated to equipment procurement.
