SUAPE POSTS 26.9% THROUGHPUT GROWTH IN JAN-MAY

Suape handled 11.27 million tonnes of cargo in January-May 2026, up 26.9% year on year, ranking as Brazil’s fourth-largest public port by throughput. Liquid bulk led operations with 7.45 million tonnes, a 41.9% increase from a year earlier, accounting for 66.2% of total volumes. Growth was supported by higher output at the Abreu e Lima refinery, which reached processing capacity of 130,000 barrels per day. Vessel calls rose 14.7% to 693 during the period. Container throughput totaled 275,714 TEUs, broadly unchanged year on year, while solid bulk volumes increased 43.6% to 658,642 tonnes, driven by wheat, cement, clinker and petroleum coke shipments.
