BRAZIL POSTS R$15 BILLION EXPORT CREDIT PLAN AMID US TARIFFS

A congressional committee has been formed to review MP 1345/26, which authorizes up to R$15 billion in financing for Brazilian exporters under the Brazil Sovereign Plan. The measure aims to cushion the impact of US tariffs on Brazilian goods and support industrial exports. Funding may be used for working capital, production expansion, innovation and process adaptation. The proposal also broadens government backed guarantees to improve access to credit. Lawmakers submitted 84 amendments to the bill. The committee is expected to vote on the rapporteur’s report on June 30, while Congress has until July 22 to approve the measure and turn it into permanent legislation.
