Western Bahia is expected to harvest a record 13.3 million tonnes of grains, oilseeds and pulses in 2026, up 3.2% year on year, supporting more than R$3.34 billion in new investments announced during Bahia Farm Show. Soybean output is forecast at 8.93 million tonnes (+3.8%), while corn and cotton production are projected at 2.8 million tonnes (+2.3%) and 1.84 million tonnes (+2.8%), respectively. Neoenergia Coelba earmarked R$3.2 billion for power grid expansion in the region through 2030. Cotton growers’ association Abapa opened a R$120 million fiber analysis center capable of processing 70,000 samples per day, while fertilizer producer Galvani invested R$21 million in a new distribution facility. Agricultural machinery manufacturers also expanded operations to support rising farm demand.
