BNDES launched a new BRL 40 million funding round under its Bioinputs program to support family farming cooperatives producing biological inputs for self-use. Applications remain open until August 31. The initiative follows a 2025 cycle that allocated BRL 20 million to four shortlisted projects focused on biofertilizers, inoculants, biological pest control and composting systems. Since 2023, BNDES has mobilized more than BRL 2.4 billion for food security, sustainable agriculture and bioeconomy projects, including BRL 1.2 billion from the Amazon Fund. Programs span the Semi-Arid region, Cerrado and Amazon, targeting climate adaptation, agroecology, sanitation, restoration and supply chains linked to family farming. BNDES estimates the initiatives support productive autonomy, lower input dependency and expand sustainable food production across vulnerable rural regions.
