BRAZIL’S OIL PRODUCTION HIT A RECORD FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE MONTH IN MARCH.

Brazil’s oil production reached a record 4.25 million bpd in March 2026, up 17% year on year and 4% above February’s previous high, according to ANP data. Pre-salt fields accounted for 3.41 million bpd, or about 80% of national output, supported by new offshore platforms. Petrobras maintained market leadership with production of 2.57 million bpd, a 15% annual increase. Shell produced 427,500 bpd, up 10.8%, while TotalEnergies lifted output 22.6% to 201,750 bpd. Natural gas production rose 23.3% year on year to 204.11 million m³/d, although only 67.39 million m³/d reached the domestic market, with most volumes reinjected into producing fields. Combined oil and gas production totaled a record 5.53 million boe/d in March, versus 4.66 million boe/d a year earlier.
